I was 11 years old when I got a random VHS tape in the mail with little monsters all over it. It said 'A sneak peek at Pokémon' and claimed to be a preview for a new gameboy game and a cartoon show. I put the tape in to watch it, and when it was done I had obtained an obsession that I still have to this day. Gotta catch 'em all. Here's that tape, kids.

The number of monsters, the mystery of knowing them all... the idea of a competitive RPG game... I remember how I got hooked. I wanted to beat the living shit out of this game.

Ohhh my god, yes. And agreed on all sentiments. I absolutely could not wait for the show to start airing and the games to come out when I finished watching that.
I almost feel it unfair that all future children, though they may get into and thoroughly enjoy Pokemon, will never get to bask in what I feel was probably the most exciting, global, money-devouring fad there ever will be.
We should battle sometime.

I don't have Battle Revolution, unfortunately. As much as I like the item selection and level adjustment for online battles, I can't bring myself to spend $50 on it yet.

Hmmmm.... I'm sure you won't remember me, but I'm that kid from the last tournament. We went to Mc's and the Nintendo Store when you bought your Green DS Lite. I was never able to find you on Smogon, and I completely forgot about this website up until tonight, really.
